A PUB in Fence is preparing to entertain some unusual guests as they team up with the RSPB for the nation's biggest survey into garden birds.
Ye Old Sparrowhawk in Wheatley Lane Road, is planning to take part in the Big Garden Birdwatch at the end of the month and is installing a special feeder for the occasion.
The Big Garden Birdwatch helps the RSPB to build up a picture of how garden birds in the UK are faring and will take place over the weekend of January 26 and 27.
Landlady Anglea Butler said: "Our gardens are busy all summer, but in the winter we get a different kind of guest.
"We are delighted to be supporting the RSPB in this huge event. We also plan to include pictures of the birds we use on our future menus."
Once the feeder is in position, staff will keep it well supplied with suitable foods in the hope they have a good selection of feathered friends on the weekend of the survey.
