LEON TRECO will have everything to play for when Sedgley Park get back into action at Preston Grasshoppers on Saturday.
The Park players will be champing at the bit after their match against Newbury at Park Lane last Saturday was hit by the weather.
Added to that, they suffered a rare 9-7 defeat at Newbury in their last match a fortnight ago.
But Treco knows he will have to maintain the good form he has shown since coming into the side for injury victim Paul Keys a few weeks before Christmas.
Keys is fit again and is expected to play in the second team tomorrow. There may even be a place for him on the first team bench.
And with a set of six games coming up now, including a clash with the team many regard as Sedgley's main promotion rivals in National League Two, Orrell on January 26, the pressure is really on for Treco and the rest.
"That game at Orrell will be the crunch for both clubs," said Sedgley coach Colin Stephens. "We have lost four games so far this season and Orrell have lost three, but they haven't played Plymouth yet.
Goalkicking half back Stephens reckons his men are ready for the challenges ahead. "Everybody's fit. We have no injuries. We have had a couple of weeks off and that has made a difference," said the Welsh ace.
"We are looking for a good win at Preston tomorrow. Against Newbury we had 80 per cent of the ball and got refereed off the park.
"We didn't perform to our full potential though and didn't deserve to win in the end. "Now we have got to bounce back and get an away win, which will be difficult, because even though Preston are down near the foot of the table, they will raise their game for this one as it's a bit of a local derby," said Stephens.
With the deadline for transfers coming up next month, Sedgley will be keeping an eye out for any talent good enough to boost their squad.
"We have no worries in any positions at the moment, but if we think we can strengthen the squad we will," said Stephens.
Hoppers have been struggling near the foot of the table and have only won twice at home all season.
Their last home victory was against Rosslyn Park, who they beat 16-14 on November 24. Since then they have lost their last four games, with three heavy defeats, 43-0 at Esher, 53-3 at Harrogate and 46-17 at home to Kendal.
There was a big turnaround of players at Preston at the end of last season, but it does not seem to have helped the club.
They lost a lot of the pack, including second row Martin Boyd and Kiwi hooker Jason Brittin.
Still at the club though is Aussie Michael Lough, their fly half and captain. He is due back from injury this week and could play against Sedgley.
Lough's brother, Tim, joined the club last season and has been playing on the wing.
Goalkicking full back Chris Glynn will be a danger. He can normally be relied on to provide 200 points a season and Park will have to keep him quiet.
Hoppers will be without back row forward Neil Ashton, who is away on honeymoon, but Gary Monaghan, one of the leading try scorers in Preston's promotion season three years ago, has returned to the club after a season at West Park.
