MEMBERS of the public are invited to attend the third meeting of the 'Friends of Walverden Park' and have their say on how the area is developed.
It will be held at 1.30pm, on Sunday, January 13, at the United Reformed Church, at the junction of Brunswick Street and Chapelhouse Road in Nelson.
A date will be set at the meeting for a 'Planning Day' which will involve members of the public from all sections of the community helping to prioritise work that they would like to see done at the park.
At the last meeting, Alan Whittaker was elected chairman, Dianne Mason secretary and Bruce Hodgson vice chairperson. Dianne Mason and Ahmad Sabzevary were elected jointly as treasurer.
Fred Stewart, the council's parks outreach officer, said: "I would encourage people living close to the park to come to the meeting in order to have their say about how they would like the park to develop in the future. The council needs input from local people in order to provide a facility that people want and enjoy."
