Clarets boss Stan Ternent is hoping to continue a happy run of results against Wimbledon.

The last four meetings between the clubs have seen Burnley win three and draw one game, and the Clarets' last trip to Selhurst Park -- the Dons adopted home -- also produced a 2-1 win just six weeks ago as two Ian Moore goals brought Burnley success against Crystal Palace.

"We have done well against them of late, and we just have to hope that continues tomorrow," said Ternent.

"They are a good side and it won't be easy, but we are back in League action -- it seems like a long time since we were -- and we are looking forward to picking things up again."

One defeat in 12 outings for the Clarets have been somewhat clouded by the 5-1 reversal at Manchester City, who took over top spot in Division One from Burnley over the holidays, and the goalless home stalemate against upwardly-mobile Millwall.

However, Ternent is confident in the ability of his side to return to winning ways.

"Wimbledon have been on a good run lately while we go into the game off the back of Manchester City in terms of the league, but my lads always seem able to bounce back," said Ternent. "It's always something we have done, we always seem to find the spark and to be honest I don't envisage any problems."

Ternent does have problems when it comes to selection as he will be without midfielders Glen Little and Paul Weller both with hamstring strains, strikers Gareth Taylor, with an ankle injury, and Andy Payton, who has a gashed leg, plus long term absentees in experienced defensive partnership Steve Davis and Mitchell Thomas.

It could mean a return to the starting line-up for Graham Branch, after coming through a reserve team test against Tranmere on Wednesday night without problem, and employing Ian Moore on his own up front.

However, Ternent was keeping his cards close to his chest.

"We are 20 games into the season and you know by that stage you are going to have to deal with some injuries and suspensions," said Ternent. "As it stands we have no suspended players, but we have injuries.

"We know all about it, it is just part and parcel of the job and it is not just us but all the other teams who have to contend with this.

"All we can do is just get on with the job, that is why you try and build as strong a squad as possible."
