ONE Blackpool pigeon was in a flap until it was rescued from a very fishy situation!
The avian antics began when an eagle-eyed passer-by saw the hapless bird stuck to the tail of a replica giant shark above the back of Blackpool's promenade Sea-Life Centre.
It is thought the bird got its feet stuck in a join between the body and tail of the shark -- nicknamed Jaws by holidaymakers.
As luck would have it, RSPCA Inspector Greg Dougherty happened to be in the area. And, helped by Blackpool's high-flying firefighters, he soon had the bird safely secured in a carrying box. It was taken off for a thorough check-over to ensure that when released it will be fit enough to avoid sharks!
