A SUPER mum who has fostered 68 children over the past 23 years has had a poem published called 'Just a Housewife'.
Janet Hill was picked as Rossendale Woman of the Year in a competition organised by Rossendale Hospice and she was later featured on the Richard and Judy This Morning programme.
Janet, 49, of Meadow Way, Bacup, said: "My daughter Janine wrote into the programme to nominate me for an award for Mothering Sunday and she had to say why she thought her mum was special.
"I was picked as Britain's Most Caring Mum and was given a make-over and a meal on the Strand and I could have gone to New York with £1,000 to spend on a shopping trip but my husband was poorly. I declined and they sent me some money." Janet has had a few poems published before but her poem Just a Housewife proved just the ticket when she submitted it to United Press in Burnley.
Janet, who is currently fostering a 22-month-old boy, has just spent nearly three weeks in hospital because he was poorly.
While she was in hospital, her youngest daughter Jenny, 17, had to take on the role of 'just a housewife'.
Janet said: "She said she didn't realise how much I did and that she was going to help me much more in future!
"I have fostered 68 children in 23 years.
"I love having babies around and I am lost without them."
