WHERE have the gritters been on Preston's park and ride?
The place has been a deathtrap during this cold weather. In fact it has been more of an ice rink than a safe place to park.
The park and ride must earn Preston Bus thousands each year.
I recently travelled to Southport by car and parked on their park and ride near the fairground.
Driving into the Southport car park I was amazed to find it was just 50p a car and not £2 or £1.50 per person as in Preston (or 70p per person after 9.45am).
Also the Southport car park had an attendant at the gate collecting the all-day fee, making life much easier. It also has modern disabled-friendly coaches carrying people back and forth instead of the mini-bus type vehicles in Preston where you're lucky to find a vacant seat.
And I bet Southport's car park has been fully gritted!
Perhaps Preston Bus should take a leaf out of Southport's books and give something back to the customers from whom they must earn a fortune.
