NORTH END'S Mark Rankine will be out of action for the foreseeable future after breaking his foot.
The 32-year-old sustained the injury in a training ground accident and X-rays revealed a slight break.
David Moyes is resigned to losing Rankine while the injury takes time to heal.
Preston's yet to be rearranged league match against Sheffield Wednesday will be sorted out once the FA Cup confusion has been cleared up.
Keeper Tepi Moilanen is recovering well from injury. He is still suffering some pain when kicking but should be fit for first team action soon.
