TOWNELEY Hall, Burnley, is looking for help from the public in putting together a military exhibition.
The display will feature medals and awards from the services, and where possible, the Burnley museum want to feature a photograph of the recipient alongside.
There are a number of World War I and II honours already at the museum and they want to trace pictures of the following servicemen:
Captain Thomas Thackery Heaton who lived on the Ridge in Burnley.
He served in the Pals regiment during World War I, but finished the war in the Royal Warwickshire Regiment and was awarded the Military Cross.
Herbert Cecil Laycock who was originally from Burnley, but later moved to Leeds.
Herbert served with the East Lancashire Regiment in World War I and was awarded the Military Cross.
William Henry Pratt, who owned a grocers shop in Robinson Street, Burnley and was awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal in 1918.
Alan Stott, a former bus conductor who lived in Athletic Street, Burnley.
He was awarded the Distinguished Flying medal in 1943 as a rear gunner in a Lancaster Bomber.
Alan was killed in action just a few weeks after being decorated.
Anyone who can help or would like more information about the display should contact Mike Townend at Towneley Hall on 01282 424213.
