PUPILS at Mansfield High School are being given even more chance to become technologically minded with the arrival of 45 brand new computer work stations worth £25,000.
The Brierfield school has been able to increase the size of its computer network to 162 terminals through the school's general funds.
Students now have a greater need for the new computers to handle the growing multimedia content of their work and for access to the Internet.
The computers have been delivered to the departments for art and technology and a computer suite of 22 terminals has been created for general use.
Headteacher Peter Dixon said: "These new computers provide the students with the modern facilities required in a technological society. In addition to the discrete teaching of ICT this gives an extra 68 hours per week access to the resources for all other subject areas. To further the expansion of these facilities the school is committed to an additional £100,000."
This will split over the next three years and will be put towards replacing the old machines the school is currently using and extending the network.
