BURNLEY are set to be without striker Dimitrios Papadopoulos for their fourth round FA Cup tie against third division Cheltenham.
The Greek under-21 has been called up for an international friendly against Portugal to be played in the week prior to the cup-tie, which is now at Whaddon Road on Sunday, January 27.
Papadopoulos will be playing for his country on January 22 and will probably not come into consideration for Burnley boss Stan Ternent even if he returns in time.
"Dimi looks like he will be away for six days," explained Ternent.
"With it being a friendly we might reduce that to four days, but we will have to see."
With strikers Gareth Taylor (ankle) and Andy Payton (leg) already out through injury the loss would seem a major one, but Ternent was just happy that Papadopoulos, signed this summer from Akratitos, was making progress both with the Clarets and on the international front.
"I feel that Dimi is doing fine, he is learning an awful lot," said Ternent.
"He is getting better day by day and we have high hopes that he will become a very good player.
"He has had a taste and he is one that we are looking at over the long term and he is progressing well."
