BURY chairman Terry Robinson has challenged fans to show how much they want a football club in the town.
The Gigg Lane supremo has urged people in the town to come on down to back the team in Tuesday night's Second Division clash with Huddersfield Town which was postponed from last Saturday.
The lack of matches at Gigg Lane of late has added to the club's financial problems and a good turnout for the Roses clash would be of huge benefit.
The game will be only the Shakers' second at Gigg Lane since the opening day of December and Robinson is eagerly hoping for a good turnout to swell the overstretched club coffers.
Four days before the Huddersfield clash, on New Years' Day, Wrexham were due to visit Gigg but that game too was frozen off.
Add to that a blank FA Cup second round Saturday and a handful of away games and there has only been the revenue from Blackpool's visit on December 22 to bring in any cash.
"The double postponement over the holiday period was a nightmare for us financially," said Mr Robinson.
"It played havoc with our cash flow situation as we could have expected to bring in £70,000 from the Huddersfield and Wrexham games.
"We really need people in the town to show how much they want a soccer club by turning out for Tuesday's match and the home game against Tranmere on the following Saturday.
"In fact we desperately need all the support we can muster until any takeover is in place."
The club have designated the Huddersfield game a "Quid A Kid" match with youngsters admitted to the Cemetery End for £1. Under-12s must be accompanied by an adult.
The Wrexham game has since been rescheduled for Tuesday, January 29, 7.45pm.
The trip to Cardiff City, scheduled for Saturday, January 26, has been re-arranged for Tuesday, February 19 at 7.45pm due to the Welsh club's continued FA Cup campaign. The game against Stoke City, scheduled for Wednesday, February 27, has been brought forward 24 hours to Tuesday, February 26, kick-off 7.45pm.
Blackpool have sent a number of tickets for the game at Bloomfield Road on Tuesday, January 22.
Although the match is not all-ticket admission is by ticket only and it is advised that travelling fans buy them from Gigg Lane to save time on the night.
They are priced £12 adults and £6 under-16s and OAPs and can be obtained from the club's commercial offices on Gigg Lane during normal office hours.
