A TEENAGER who was found lying in a pool of blood after being shot in the head has died in hospital.
Today police, who have already charged a man with attempted murder, were considering further charges.
Anthony James Rigby, 18, was discovered at his flat in Swift Close, in the Larkhill area of Blackburn, on Monday by a relative. Paramedics were called just before midday.
He was taken to Blackburn Royal Infirmary but transferred to the head injuries unit at Royal Preston Hospital where he died last night. His family are believed to have been at his bedside all week.
Mark Peter Harrington, 19, of St James Road, Blackburn, appeared before the town's magistrates on Thursday.
He was remanded in custody charged with the attempted murder of Mr Rigby and possession of an Olympic .38 handgun. Police said they had no reason to believe the shooting was drugs related.
The incident shocked neighbours in the quiet cul-de-sac close to the town centre.
A police spokesman said today that the issue of further charges was being considered. Harrington is due to appear at Preston Crown Court in June.
Police immediately set up an investigation team into the shooting under Detective Superintendent Paul Buschini and an incident room was set up at Blackburn Police Station.
