CHARLTON boss Alan Curbishley was disappointed with the sending off, whilst Rovers midfielder Craig Hignett was pleased with three points.

Alan Curbishley said: "Once we went down to 10 men, we were done for and I thought it was very harsh.

"I think Scott got the ball first. And I'd like to think if it's seen that he did get the ball, then Mr Barry should do something about it -- but we'll have to wait and see on that.

"From the direction he came, he caught the ball fully because it went out for a corner and then the player fell over.

"But, overall, you can't expect to come away and attack games like that.

"It was end to end -- we didn't get our goals, but they always looked like scoring.

"So it wasn't a very professional performance but I hope we can learn from it.

"We can't afford to get involved in games that are too open."

Goalscorer Craig Hignett said: "This was a massive win and we made it hard for ourselves again in the second half.

"In the first half, we could have been four or five-nil up and that would have been an exaggeration of the game.

"But by the end, we were just pleased to get the three points, really, and it's been a great week for me, personally.

"It's just nice to have played three games in a week, especially after a couple of months of not really playing, and that gives you something to look forward to after training."

Rovers boss Graeme Souness said: "The most enjoyable aspect of the game for me was getting the three points but I appreciated the way Matt Jansen and Andy Cole linked up.

"But if you can't play alongside Andy Cole, then who can you play alongside?"
