PIANO man Pinetop Perkins at the amazing age of 93 will be the oldest swinger in town when he takes centre stage at the Burnley National Blues Festival.
Perkins, who released his first recording in 1926, will be the oldest performer ever to play on a British Blues festival stage.
The four-day extravaganza which will take place over Easter weekend will have the town buzzing. Headlining the opening night on March 29 will be Mike Sanchez along with Scandinavian stars Knock Out Gregg, Blue Weather and Gospel diva Sista Monica Parker.
Burnley Mechanics will host the main stage with other performers including Chicago's Byther Smith and US guitarist Larry McCray.
The blues boat the Martin Emperor will also be running trips along the Leeds and Liverpool canal for those who like to listen to their music on the move.
The popular fringe events will be centred on the Sparrowhawk Hotel and The Talbot with other pubs and clubs hosting events.
Festival tickets and further details about the festival can be obtained from the box office at Burnley Mechanics on 01282 664400.
