POLICE are appealing for help after an elderly woman was hospitalised after being mugged on a busy street in Preston.
The 81-year-old was walking along New Hall Lane, Preston, at around 10.30am on Monday morning, when a young man cycled up behind her. When she reached the cemetery roundabout she was robbed.
The attacker, who was around 18, was wearing a black jacket with red trim. He grabbed the woman's shopping bag, dragging her to the floor.
He stole a pension book, house keys and £30 cash.
The victim was taken to the Royal Preston Hospital with a suspected broken hip.
