POLICE are appealing for the driver of an estate car to come forward with vital information about a fatal road accident.
Officers investigating the crash want the driver of a black estate car travelling behind a Ford Mondeo to get in touch.
The driver of the vehicle stopped and gave assistance when a Renault 19 collided with the Mondeo after it went out of control on a right hand bend in Skipton Old Road, Foulridge, on Sunday night.
At first it was thought a passenger in the Renault, 18-year-old Shane Michael Norman McIntyre of Burwains Avenue, Foulridge, was not badly injured because he was conscious and spoke to emergency crew at the scene.
But the teenager died two hours later in Burnley General Hospital from multiple injuries.
Sgt Russ Gregory said: "We are appealing for the driver of the estate car to contact the road policing unit and tell the police exactly what he saw."
Police closed the road for six hours after the incident.
Anyone with information can contact PC Chris Edwards on 01282 472542.
