Clarets youth team boss Terry Pashley will be looking for an improved performance from his side when they face Tranmere at Gawthorpe on Saturday.
The youngsters will go into the clash knowing they need to prove a point after a 5-0 Youth Cup thrashing the last time they met their opponents from the Wirral.
"They beat us in the cup and they beat us rather comfortably," conceded Pashley.
"We know that we did not do ourselves justice the last time we met, so everyone knows that we need to put the record straight.
"We know we can get it right, but we do need the right performance this weekend."
The Clarets teenagers are in good shape for the game going into it off the back of a 3-1 success over Blackpool.
Pashley was pleased with the display, but still felt there was room for improvement.
"It wasn't bad in patches, but we missed a penalty and hit the crossbar and we could have run out more comfortable winners," explained Pashley.
"We weren't as good as I would like them to be in certain areas, but equally the pitch was not that conducive to good football."
Damian Hindle impressed bagging two goals, and Richard Chapple added the other.
They were among the top performers but Pashley also picked out Andrew Leeson and Earl Davis.
"Andrew put on a very strong showing and Earl also looked strong," said Pashley.
"Earl has been out through injury and I think he will need a few games before he is ready for the reserves, but he came back well."
