INVESTIGATIONS are to be carried out into noise nuisance following complaints from residents in the Mayfield Flats, Darwen.
A petition has been sent to council chiefs from the residents, claiming a firm operating in Junction Street is disturbing them.
A report to the executive board of Blackburn with Darwen Council states that Environmental Health has received complaints from people in the flats and that objections stretch back to July 2000.
The complaints include loud banging of metal, noisy machinery and radios being played too loud.
Those complaints, the report states, were sorted out with the firm but in November last year, residents claimed noise was coming from the yard at anti-social hours.
Noise monitoring visits have now been arranged by the council to decide if any laws are being broken.
