A MAJOR Science for Schools scheme will be launched at the Asda store in Bury Road, Rawtenstall, on Monday, January 25.
Rossendale schools are being invited to visit the supermarket to complete in the Big Science Trails which are linked to the National Science Year programme.
Store events Yvette Jackson explained: "The trails are packed full of real life learning activities and provide the opportunity for schools to link the classroom with the wider environment, helping pupils to apply skills in practical ways."
It is hoped that local schools will come forward and take part in the life learning programme.
The store has developed three themes for primary school pupils:
Packing -- including shapes and materials.
Function and insulation -- the importance of keeping things fresh.
Cleaning up.
Yvette said: "The trails are available to all schools and anyone interested should make contact so that we can arrange a convenient time for them to come into the store and participate."
Any school interested in taking part in the scheme is asked to contact Yvette at Asda on 01707 229634.
