IF you are 50 in February you could find yourself celebrating your special milestone in the presence of the Queen.
To mark her Golden Jubilee, the Queen is inviting anyone born on February 6, 1952, to attend a garden party at Buckingham Palace.
Around 3,000 people are thought to have been born on Ascension Day, the day the Queen came to the throne. Invitations to the garden party will be available for people who send copies of their birth certificates to the Lord Lieutenant's office, at County Hall, Preston, PR1 8XJ.
Every 50-year-old will be entitled to take along one guest aged 18 and over and invitations will be distributed on a pro-rata basis around the country.
The Buckingham Palace garden party will be held on Tuesday July 9 and applications must be in by January 31.
The Lord Lieutenant's office can be contacted on 01772 263364.
