IF ever proof was needed that once hunting with dogs is banned hunts can successfully switch to drag hunting, it was provided by the Holcombe Harriers at Rivington Barn on Boxing Day.
Without a licence to torment hares, they opted for a leisurely ride instead. This did not spoil the enjoyment of the hounds, horses, spectators or the riders, except one huntsman who seemed only interested in provoking protesters.
This begs the question, why don't they switch to drag hunting and stop breaking up timid hares now?
