THE National Canine Defence League's (NCDL) bright yellow microchip unit rolls into Accrington on Monday from 10am till 4pm.
The roadshow on the Asda car park, Hyndburn Road, is to help the NCDL's campaign Give a Dog a Life, aimed at reducing the number of stray and abandoned dogs in the UK.
Microchipping costs £9.50 and is a simple action that takes a few seconds -- a chip the size of a grain of rice is inserted into loose skin at the back of the dog's neck.
This contains the dog's name and address so if it ever gets lost it will be easily returned.
Those on means tested benefits or a pension can microchip their dog free.
