USERS of the bottle bank at the Spar car park in Longridge have helped to raise on average of £1,000 a year for the past 15 years.
The cash go to the Preston branch of the Multiple Sclerosis Society. The Longridge bottle bank appeal was started by Longridge pet store owner John Farmery in memory of his first wife.
John and his wife Gertie also raffled a rag doll at their shop in aid of the Brittle Bone Society. The doll, made by Jean Whitworth, raised £204.
