ITOTALLY agree with Shazia Hussain's criticism of the RSPCA (Letters, January 9). Last year, a kitten became trapped up a tree at the back of our house.
It was there for three days in winter, crying pitifully.
I rang the RSPCA, only to be told to leave it where it was as it would get down itself. I was disgusted. Is this the same RSPCA we see on Pet Rescue, turning out at the drop of a hat, or is that because the TV cameras are there?
In the end, we borrowed a ladder and rescued the kitten ourselves. I still donate to animal charities -- but not the RSPCA.
