CONFUSION over how best to dispose of fridges and freezers has been addressed by the county council.
Changes to EC regulations mean retailers no longer take away old applia ces and Cabinet member Brian Johnson said: "Whatever way people decide to dispose of their fridge or freezer they should make sure they do it responsibly."
The advice from the county council is that any fridges in good condition should be donated to charity, anyone with suitable transport can drop them off at landfill sites and for a small fee local authorities will pick up redundant fridges and freezers.
