TYLDESLEY Little Theatre celebrates its 250th production this month with comedy drama, Bazaar and Rummage.
Written by Sue Townsend -- creator of much-loved character Adrian Mole -- this adult-themed play aims to look at serious issues through realistic, in-depth characters. The story focuses on the struggles of a group of agoraphobic (fear of open spaces) women as they attempt to stage a jumble sale as part of their therapy.
Ian Taylor directs an experienced cast, which includes award winners Margaret Speakes and Winnie Evans, alongside Hazel Rimmer, Kaye Taylor and Julia Haughton. Samantha Hadcroft also returns to the stage, two years after her last performance in Fur Coat and No Knickers.
Ian, who has been a member for 15 years and directing for 10, said: "It's amazing that the theatre has been going for so long -- since 1921. It makes us all take it seriously, it's as though we are continuing a tradition."
The show opens at the theatre in Lemon Street, Tyldesley, on January 29 and runs until February 2. Tickets are now on sale and are available from 01204 655619 or 01942 886908.
