STAND by your beds! A TV company is seeking national service memories from Leigh area lads who served in the Army between 1947 and 1963.
Twenty Twenty Television is making a major series and is keen to talk to anyone with vivid recollections of basic training, kit inspection and the taste of Army food and life during the 16-year period.
Producer Simon Rockell is also keen to speak to women about saying goodbye to their sons or brothers, their time in the NAAFI, or if they were swept off their feet by a national serviceman.
Anyone with stories, memories or memorabilia is asked to call Tom, Mary or Simon on 0207 284 2020 and they will phone straight back, or email them at marybannister@twentytwenty.tv
