ACCRINGTON Stanley are chasing a former League player - and hope to have him at the Crown Ground soon.
John Coleman is hoping to tempt a defensive midfielder, currently playing in the Nationwide Conference, to join his side's push in the UniBond Premier Division.
"We hope to have him soon," said the Reds chief, whose side travel to Hyde United on Friday night.
The Stanley boss is hoping to boost his squad as they look to get back on track following their their first loss in 15 outings on Saturday when they went down 3-2 to Burscough.
Defender Jonathan Smith was sent off for the second bookable offence after 20 minutes.
"We then went 1-0 up but tactically I got it wrong," admitted Coleman. "I should have put a defender on to tighten things up but I got carried away with how well we had done in recent weeks.
"I thought we could still attack but then they got the goals and there was no way back. I blame myself but I have learnt from this."
