AWEEK after taking delivery of her replacement vehicle, my daughter arrived home complaining that other drivers were honking their horns and mouthing abuse at her because the indicators on her car had stopped working.
Her father then asked: "Why didn't you use your hand signals?"
Looking rather bemused she said: "What do you mean?"
Her father explained the movements.
She blurted: "Well, that's OK if I'm turning right, but I can't stick my hand out of the passenger window when I'm turning left, because I can't reach it!"
As a Christmas present, she received a white glove on the end of a short pole.
She was told it may come in very handy .
