POLICE have arrested two pupils at Moorhead Secondary School following the fighting earlier this week which saw police mounting a guard to prevent further trouble.
An investigation was launched following the trouble which has led to the arrest of two boys aged 16 and 15.
Riot vans and dog handlers were called in as the troubles, believed to be sparked by a dispute between two pupils, escalated.
It is believed a gang of around 20 youths armed with chains and pieces of wood were involved.
Sgt Jim Elston, of Accrington CID, said enquiries were continuing and pupils from the school, believed to be involved, had been attending the police station on a voluntary basis.
A small police presence was still at the school to reassure pupils and parents.
The police have said they will be continuing with investigations and more arrets may follow.
