VETERAN defender Stig Bjornebye is relishing the prospect of keeping the man dubbed 'Golden Balls' quiet when Rovers descend on Old Trafford tomorrow.

United winger David Beckham was affectionately christened with the tag by his wife, Victoria, during England's remarkable march towards the World Cup finals last year.

But the challenge of keeping him in check tomorrow holds no fears for Bjornebye who claims Rovers are fired up for their meeting with the Champions.

"I've played against David Beckham a few times at Old Trafford and Anfield - even at Ewood Park this year and I'm not worried if I have to mark him tomorrow," said Bjornebye.

"I've always enjoyed playing against Manchester United because you get so much motivation playing teams like that.

"There's no need to work on that because when you know they are the opposition, you're up for it straight away.

"It's another game and that's the way I view it. There are so many great players in the Premiership these days that if you are going to look into every one of them before a game you'll go crazy.

"You just have to concentrate on the game, whether it be van Nistelrooy, Hasselbaink or whoever you are up against -- you still have to do your job."
