CREATIVE therapy will be the theme of the next meeting of the Burnley branch of the Parkinson's Disease Society.
The group which covers all of East Lancashire will meet at the Temple Street resource centre, Burnley, on Wednesday, January 30, at 7.30pm.
The evening, with tutors, will feature watercolour painting.
Membership secretary Yvonne Crossland, said: "The branch is here to provide information and support to local people who have unfortunately found they have Parkinson's and find it difficult to deal with.
"This is quite common because sufferers and their carers may not know how to find out more about PD so we act as a self-support group.
"The monthly meetings are a social event but also give people the opportunity to bring any problems they have to others who can give them benefit of their experience or expertise.
"As people are living longer nowadays more people are likely to suffer from Parkinson's Disease, although it is by no means confined to the elderly. The Society is a very important resource not just for these people but also for their carers."
