BUDDING David Beckhams from the Callon estate are to get coaching from their favourite football stars on a new coaching scheme.
The scheme is funded by Collingwood Housing Association which has teamed up with Preston North End who will provide the coaching expertise.
A session will be run each week for an hour and a half where seven to 14 year olds will hone their footballing talents.
And since the Callon All Stars team are hoping to enter the local league soon, this initiative should help this and future seasons to be a success.
As part of PNE's Football in the Community initiative two coaches from the club will join current coach Paul Smith to help train the youngsters.
Paul, who has been coaching the Callon All Stars for two and a half years has recently received his FA coaching certificate but is delighted to get such prestigious help.
He said: "Hopefully the introduction of these PNE coaches will help the kids that are already here and encourage others to join in."
Both boys and girls from the estate are welcome to come along to the sessions.
As part of the initiative North End will be sending first team players along to help with the children's training.
Incentives for the children will include trips to Deepdale and prizes of match tickets for most improved player.
Tamara Goddard of Collingwood Housing Association said: "We are very proud to be providing this opportunity for the children of Callon Estate.
"Collingwood are fully committed to improving the community, we are not just about houses we are also about people."
