ROY Wegerle felt he had taken "a good old-fashioned hammering" after comfortably missing the halfway cut at the Dunhill Championship in Johannesburg.
Ex-footballer Wegerle fired a creditable four-over 76 in the first round in his first-ever European Tour event at Houghton Golf Club.
But the 37-year-old stumbled to a second-round 80 and a 12-over-par total of 156, leaving him 22 shots off the lead held by South African Roger Wessels and little-known Englishman Sandeep Grewal at 10 under par.
