A COURTYARD at the rear of the Mary Hindle Resource Centre in Haslingden could be renovated if grants are found to carry out the work.
Haslingden Environment Trust is putting together a project for the courtyard at the back of the former pub premises on Bury Road.
Secretary Jean Sudworth said: "It is in a mess and the youth that meet at the centre like to use it but the surface is uneven.
"We need to put together an environmental project perhaps to get a garden in there, add hanging baskets and make the area quite attractive and the surface level."
There are also plans to carry out a bulb planting day in April in the town's Victoria Park.
Bulbs have been planted in tubs and gardens at people's homes, and the plan is to transport them to the park for its centenary year and provide a burst of colour at the park.
Jean said: "We are going to be writing to the local schools to see if any children doing environmental studies want to get involved with the project.
"We are also going to be liaising with the Friends of Whitaker Park which is also celebrating its centenary to see if we can help to organise an event for the Queen's Jubilee."
