A MARKETING manager with a Rossendale hair salon has appeared in court following the seizure of £60,000 of cannabis in a car.
Christopher Watson, 26, of Heys Close, Cloughfold, Rawtenstall, and Ian Lomax, 33, of Bell Lane, Bury, were arrested after a swoop on a vehicle in Bass Lane, Summerseat.
Police said they found the £60,000 worth of cannabis in the boot.
Watson and potato deliverer Lomax, were charged with possession with intent to supply and a further charge of possession of cannabis.
Another man Benjamin Cannella, 25, from Southend Close, Hampstead, was arrested later on similar charges and an extra charge of obstructing a police officer.
All three men appeared before Bury Magistrates yesterday when prosecutor was Claire Stevens.
Watson and Lomax, who were described as 'mutual friends' in court, appeared together and were given conditional bail until March 14. They must not contact each other and must live at the given addresses.
Magistrates have declined to deal with their case and so both will be committed to the Crown Court.
Cannella was dealt with separately. Magistrates initially remanded him in custody but said they would grant bail if he met pre release conditions.
These included providing a surety of £5,000 and reporting twice a week to his local police.
