IN response to a letter, No Status Without Access Group, from John Coxhead of Preston DISC, published December 20, 2001, about the Annual Access Award 2002, the Trustees of Preston Council for the Voluntary Service (Preston CVS) would like to correct a point made.
As chairman of Preston DISC, Mr Coxhead is aware of the criteria for making nominations and the panel of judges will be meeting in January to review the nominations submitted and make their informed decision.
Mr Coxhead will also be aware of what good support his organisation has received from Preston CVS throughout 2001, this has included training to DISC trustees in committee skills, the facilitation of an organisational planning day and provision of secretariat support for both Preston Disability Sports Forum and Preston Panthers.
I am sure in due course the readers of The Citizen will be interested to know the outcome of the Annual Access Award 2002 once the decision by the panel of judges has been made.
Honorary Officers and Trustees, Preston CVS.
