THE victim of a bag snatch attempt was left in agony on the ground after being dragged under the wheels of a car.
The 50-year-old victim refused to let go of her bag when it was grabbed by the back seat passenger of a stolen car on the Focus store in Caldervale Road, Burnley.
She was dragged across the car park and then fell under the rear wheels.
She suffered cuts and bruises to her left arm and a broken hand.
The car, a blue Cavalier, K593 RCW, which was stolen in Elland, West Yorkshire on New Year's then sped off into Princess Way where it was involved in a collision with another car.
It then continued down the road in the direction of the motorway, junction 11.
Other shoppers on the do-it-yourself store car park went to the injured woman's help and called for the emergency services.
She was taken to Burnley General Hospital and allowed home treatment.
She was today being questioned by detectives who have not released her identity.
Det Sgt Steve Mounsey said the incident happened at about 3.40pm yesterday and that they were appealing for help from the public to trace the three men in the car.
