EWOOD chief Graeme Souness is set to give a trial to French midfielder Gerard Forschelet.
The 20-year-old Tahiti-born prospect from Cannes will spend a day at Brockhall at some point this week after being recommended to Rovers by a third party.
The £1million-rated Forschelet recently appeared in a secret trail game for Birmingham City.
And he is said to be rated as the best find for years at a club which produced Zinedine Zidane and Patrick Vieira.
However, chief executive John Williams insists no deal is imminent and the purpose of the trail is purely to have a look at the player at closer quarters.
"He's over in this country for about a week so he's coming to us for a one-day trial," said Williams.
"He's just someone who has been recommended to us at this stage, there's nothing more to it than that."
Meanwhile, Rovers midfielder David Dunn looks set to be ruled out of action for a couple of weeks.
The 22-year-old midfield starlet had a scan on his calf injury yesterday and, though the results have so far proved inconclusive, the England Under 21 international looks certain to miss the next fortnight.
