THE first goal could hold the key as to whether Rovers fans endure a night of celebration or a night of excruciating tension.
While the Owls come to Ewood knowing they need two goals, it would only take grabbing the opener to turn this semi-final tie on it's head.
However, Sheffield Wednesday arrive unable to field new signing Shefki Kuqi, who is cup-tied, and are likely to partner South American Pablo Facundo Bonvin with Efan Ekoku in attack.
Bonvin, a summer signing, has bagged a goal in the Worthington Cup already this term, but has only scored five this season.
However, he remains a man that Rovers need to watch.
In turn the home side will be hoping that newcomer Andy Cole continues his rich vein of form and fires in a goal that will send Rovers marching through to Cardiff.
