A STOLEN car used in a bag-snatch attack which left a 50-year-old woman with a broken hand has been recovered by police.
The light blue Vauxhall Cavalier was found at Elland in West Yorkshire and is now being examined.
The car, registration number K593 RCW was stolen from the same Yorkshire town on December 31.
Police were looking for the vehicle in connection with an incident on the car park of Focus in Caldervale Road, Burnley, at 3.40pm on Sunday.
The victim was close to her own car when a rear seat passenger in the Cavalier grabbed her handbag. She was dragged to the ground and under the vehicle when she refused to let go of the bag.
Det Sgt Steve Mounsey said they were working closely with police in West Yorkshire. Extensive inquiries were continuing and they were taking statements from witnesses.
