A PRESTON climber had to be rescued from the side of a Scottish mountain after falling 500ft.
Local man Phillip Acklan was climbing on Aonach Moor, near Fort William in Scotland, when he slipped and fell on Sunday.
He escaped with leg and face injuries.
The 36-year-old engineer managed to find his way to a ski hut, and wait for help.
Mr Acklan was then flown to hospital in nearby Belford where he has received treatment for his injuries.
