THE Interfaith Council for Blackburn with Darwen are inviting members of all faiths and cultures to remember victims of the Holocaust at a short ceremony in Blackburn.
Blackburn with Darwen Council are also supporting the National Holocaust Memorial Day service, to be held on the steps of Blackburn Town Hall in King William Street on Sunday, January 27.
Chairman of Blackburn Interfaith Council, Coun Salim Mulla, will lead the 2pm ceremony and the opening address will be conducted by Leslie Olsberg, of Heaton Park Synagogue, Manchester.
Multi-faith prayers will be offered by Jewish representative Renee Black, the Dean of Blackburn Cathedral the Very Rev Chris Armstrong and Sikh representative Charan Bamhrah. There will also be representation from the Hindu faith and the Muslim Community.
The Deputy Mayor and Mayoress of Darwen with Blackburn, Coun Tony Humphrys and Mrs Jacqueline Humphrys will also attend the service.
Pupils from St Bede's High School will present a Reflection on Auschwitz.
There will also be an exhibition at the Central Library on Town Hall Street where Sunday opening hours are 11am to 3pm.
