ROVERS insprational midfielder Tugay is keen to play in the Worthington Cup final, and give the fans a great day out in Cardiff.

TUGAY - The Turkish midfielder is pleased to have become a fans favourite at Ewood.

"I LOVE it, I really love it. They are great supporters.

"It was a good game for us because we worked hard for each other.

"Everyone was down when we got Flitty sent off but we dug deep and fought hard. He is a good player and a good person.

"Everyone is happy here. The game is very important for us because we go to Cardiff.

"We want to win and Cardiff, this is the final, it is a special day. We want to do it for the fans."

BRAD FRIEDEL - The American goalkeeper is ready for his first major final in English football

"This is my first major final in the UK I have played in a final in every other country I have played football - Denmark, Turkey and America.

"Now I have one here and I hope we win it. Cup finals are unbelievable. I have not been involved in one in the UK so I can only imagine it will be better than the one's in the other countries.

"We are all happy. It was a strange game, we were 2-0 up and cruising, got a man sent off and than gave away a penalty.

"It was backs to the walls for a little bit but I think we had the better of the chances and I think that is a tribute to the way we play football."

CRAIG HIGNETT - The midfielder - who played in Middlesbrough's 1-0 defeat to Leicester City in the Worthington Cup final in 1997 - made it five goals in five starts for Rovers.

"I LEFT it a little bit late really but I was pleased to get on the scoresheet but more than that the goal gave us some breathing space as well.

"It was a bit hairy in the second half but I think we probably deserved it.

"The final is a great day out, a great occassion to remember when you finish playing.

"I know some clubs haven't taken it seriously but you ask any club when we walk out there on final day if they would rather take our place and the answer will be yes."

LUCAS NEILL - The defender is cup-tied for the Worthington Cup after playing in an early round for First Division Millwall - but it didn't spoil his enjoyment.

"IT IS great for the club. There is no mixed feeling. I will just enjoy the day, going down to Cardiff in a suit and watching the game.

"I will have my chance, maybe in the FA Cup, or next year.

"I want to achieve things like tonight with Blackburn."
