BELGIUM international Bob Peeters will not move to Burnley without the blessing of his international manager Robert Waseighe.
Speaking from Holland today the Vitesse Arnhem striker admitted: "Before I make any move I will call the manager and seek his advice.
"I have been playing top division football in Holland. I need to know that a move to the first division in England would not hurt my chances of going to the World Cup in Japan and South Korea.
"That is the most important thing for me. I have been in and out of the side at Vitesse and I want to play first team football.
"I missed the play-off games against the Czech Republic and the manager has told me it will be difficult to pick me if I am not playing first team football. If I am playing it is not a problem.
"The manager is very close to all the players and I know if I am playing regularly I am normally in the squad.
"I hope to play for Vitesse but if that is not happening I will have to go somewhere else."
While he claims he would be happy to come to Burnley, with the blessing of the Belgium boss, he admitted he is unlikely to come over on a trial basis.
"Burnley were coming to see me in our training camp but there was a misunderstanding and they could not make it," he said.
"They can also come and see me when we take on NEC on Sunday at the end of our winter break. It is our first match since December 22.
"But it would be too dangerous for me to go on a trial and play in a reserve game because I might get a kick and get injured.
"That would mean that I would not get a move to Burnley and I would not be fit to play for Vitesse.
"I know they want me to come over but I have told my manager at Vitesse my position. It is now up to Burnley to see what they want to do.
"If they want me, they have to make the next move. I have not asked Vitesse for a transfer."
Peeters is convinced he could be a success in England because the big striker feels that his game is suited to the style of play over here.
"I am certainly interested in coming to British football," he explained.
"I can play well with my back to goal, I am very good with my head and from what I know I am a typical type of English forward.
"I like to link up with a smaller striker and I think that is when I am at my best."
That would suggest he would provide competition for Gareth Taylor in attack but his unwillingness to come over on trial may result in Clarets boss Stan Ternent's interest cooling.
That is certainly not true in the case of Robbie Blake who was in Burnley this morning and expected to finalise his £1million move to Turf Moor.
Having completed the deal with his club Bradford City it just remains to iron out a few personal details before he become a Claret.
The good news for Ternent is that Blake's stomach strain is easing and he expects to be fit inside a week. He could therefore make his debut in the televised game against West Bromwich Albion a week on Sunday.
Meanwhile the club has announced a new date for the home game against Bradford City following the postponement of the game on New Year's Day.
The Roses clash will be held at Turf Moor on February 19 with a 7.45pm kick off.
