ROVERS boss Graeme Souness has confirmed that Rovers will be appealing against Garry Flitcroft's sending off.
The Rovers captain was dismissed after a challenge on Sheffield Wednesday captain Trond Soltvedt in Rovers' 6-3 aggregate Worthington Cup semi-final win on Tuesday night.
He could miss the final against Tottenham on February 24.
But Owls star Solvedt has slammed the tackle saying Flitcroft could have broken his leg and should not win the appeal.
The Norway international said: "He was going in not only to win the ball but also over the top.
"You have to be sent off for that. When I saw him coming I decided to jump and get my feet off the ground.
"He was flying and if I had been standing, he'd have broken my leg.
"I was lucky. I felt pain and thought it might have been worse at first.
"It was only a knock but some studs had gone through my sock, leaving holes."
