GRAEME Souness today said Rovers have 'nothing to fear' going into next month's Worthington Cup final against Tottenham at Cardiff.

The Rovers boss will face his old club at the Millennium Stadium following Spurs' 5-1 second leg win over Chelsea last night.

But Souness believes if Rovers play to their potential then they are more than capable of winning their first major cup final since 1928.

"When you get to a cup final you are obviously just happy to be there yourself no matter who you are playing and before last night's semi-final there was nothing between those two teams.," said the Ewood chief.

"We have played Tottenham twice this season and we having nothing to fear on the strength of those gamse so if we go there and do our stuff, I am confident we can get a result.

"We have beaten them at home and they only scored late on to make it 2-1 which flattered them.

"Then in the game at their place, they had a really good opening 20 minutes against us but we then got back into it and I felt we dominated after that so there is nothing for us to worry about.

"If both teams play to their full potential then I fancy our chances.

"We both have exciting forwards and it promises to be a cracking game."

Meanwhile, Birmingham City have denied reports that they are looking to sign Flitcroft. A spokesman for the St Andrews club dismissed the claims saying: "No, the report is not true."
