TRAIN services n Lancaster face severe disruption today (Thursday) and tomorrow as rail unions strike over pay.
Arriva trains, which runs services between Morecambe, Lancaster, Carnforth and Yorkshire, has been forced to cancel all services after conductors voted to strike after rejecting an increase in average wages from £20,000 pa to £21,500pa.
Arriva has previously come under fire after cancelling services because of a shortage of drivers.
Green Cllr Jon Barry said: "The railways are going from bad to worse and yet again it's the passengers who are suffering.
Rail privatisation clearly doesn't work and it's about time the Government started seriously thinking about getting the rail network back under public control.
