A RECENT TV programme on game shows revealed that the Swinging Sixties were not really as rocking as some of us like to remember.
The with-it Top of the Form contestants of 1965 revealed their hobbies as visiting historic buildings, brass rubbing and knitting -- rip roaring past times of the era.
But don't scoff. I too started knitting around that time, and have done it periodically ever since.
It saved me a fortune copying Mary Quant skinny rib sweaters.

For anyone who wants to stop smoking or snacking though it's a purl of a hobby. Hands are kept busy for hours on end!
